Ask Dr. Young and Dr. Higham: How often should children be seen for check-ups?

How often should children be seen for check-ups?  Children should visit the dentist every 6 months unless recommended otherwise.  Baby teeth only have half the protective enamel compared to permanent teeth and can develop cavities much faster.  New teeth are not completely mineralized, and regular fluoride treatments and protective sealants can get them off to a good start.  Is it time to schedule your child's exam?  Call our office at 733-9331!
